Everything you need to know regarding our wedding locations.

Aberthau Mansion

West Point Grey Community Centre

Parking around Aberthau Mansion will be limited on the weekend of our wedding. We recommend arranging a taxi or rideshare service to make getting to and from the venue as easy as possible.

Built in 1922, Aberthau Mansion is a beautiful Tudor Revival heritage home overlooking English Bay in Vancouver's West Point Grey neighbourhood. Originally built as a private residence, it is now one of the city's most cherished heritage venues.

To help preserve the property, guests are asked to follow the venue's guidelines. Helium balloons, candles, smoke machines, rice, confetti, glitter, table sparkles, and similar materials are not permitted anywhere inside the building or on the grounds. Smoking is also prohibited anywhere on the property.

Maxine’s

Cafe & Bar

There is paid street parking available around Maxine’s; however, as the restaurant is located in downtown Vancouver, parking can be limited and finding a spot may be challenging.

Located in the heart of Vancouver, Maxine's is a modern neighbourhood restaurant known for its warm atmosphere, French-inspired cuisine, and classic cocktails. We'll be celebrating our reception here with great food, drinks, and dancing.

Guests will be able to choose from a selection of dinner entrées on the day of the wedding. If you have any allergies or dietary restrictions, please let us know when you RSVP so we can ensure they are accommodated. Children's meals will also be available for our younger guests.

We'll also be hosting an open bar throughout the evening, so come ready to raise a glass and celebrate with us!

Accomodations

Where are guests staying?

While we do not have a designated hotel block for guests, some members of our family will be staying at the Grand Park Hotel & Suites Downtown. Guests are welcome to stay wherever is most convenient for them, and there are many hotels located near Maxine's and throughout downtown Vancouver.

We recommend booking accommodations early, especially if you are travelling from out of town.

Vancouver

Airport, weather, things to do.

For those flying in, Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is the closest airport to the city and is approximately a 25–30 minute drive from downtown Vancouver. The Canada Line SkyTrain also provides a convenient connection between the airport and downtown. We recommend checking transportation options ahead of time, especially if arriving during peak travel periods.

Early October in Vancouver is typically mild but can be unpredictable. Expect temperatures around 10–17°C (50–63°F), with the possibility of rain. We recommend bringing layers, a light jacket or coat, and comfortable shoes—especially if you plan on exploring the city on foot.

If you have some extra time while you're in Vancouver, there are plenty of beautiful places to explore. A few of our favourite spots include Stanley Park, where you can walk, bike, or stroll along the seawall while taking in views of the mountains, ocean, and city skyline; Granville Island, where you can explore the public market, local shops, artisan studios, and waterfront views; the Vancouver Seawall, one of the city's most scenic walks along the water; and Gastown, Vancouver's oldest neighbourhood, known for its historic buildings, cobblestone streets, and restaurants.
